Chair or Research Initiative
Research initiative on telecommunications in the Digital Age
Partner since the early 1990s
Orange is a longstanding partner of TSE: the research collaboration between France Télécom and the Institute of Industrial Economics began in the early 1990s. Since then, the partnership has been continuously renewed, evolving over time to address new and emerging issues.
Activities
Launched in early 2026, the Telecommunications in the Digital Age research initiative is jointly developed by the two organizations and combines several forms of collaboration:
- Research projects on topics of common interest,
- Research seminars led by TSE-P researchers,
- Academic support on economic issues related to regulatory challenges.
The research projects supported through this initiative are designed from a long-term perspective, with regular interactions between TSE researchers and Orange teams.
Priority research areas
- Dynamic effects in mergers
- The concept of “FRAND” (Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory)
- Regulation of satellites
