Scholarships
Financing a college education is a major challenge for many students. To promote access to its programs and support students’ academic journeys, TSE offers and provides information on various scholarship and financial aid programs.
These scholarships may be awarded based on several criteria: financial need, academic excellence, nationality, educational background, or plans to continue one’s studies. They are funded by public agencies, institutional partners, foundations, or directly by TSE.
Some scholarships may be combined with one another, and may include exemption provisions of tuition fees, depending on the eligibility requirements specific to each program.
In addition, emergency financial aid may be requested during the academic year to assist students facing significant financial difficulties or exceptional circumstances.
Below you will find a complete list of scholarship programs, categorized by student profile and program of study, to help you identify the financial aid options that best fit your situation.
French Students
Crous Need-Based Grants
Need-based grants are the primary national student aid program. They are awarded by the Crous based on the household’s social and financial situation and are designed to support students throughout their academic careers.
Depending on the level assigned, they entitle students to annual financial aid and exemption from tuition fees (Bachelor’s, standard Master’s, and TSE Master of Science programs). Applications are submitted annually as part of the Student Social File (DSE). For more information, please contact the Crous Toulouse-Occitanie.
International Students
French Government Scholarships – Campus France
French Government scholarships are awarded to international students by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through French embassies and Campus France offices. Their purpose is to facilitate access to higher education in France and to support international student mobility.
For more information, we recommend contacting the French embassy or Campus France office in your country of residence.
Eiffel Scholarship
The Eiffel Scholarship is a program of excellence for international students admitted to the TSE Master of Science. It aims to support the most outstanding academic candidates and promote the international mobility of talented students.
It provides a monthly stipend of €1,180 and may be awarded for up to 12 months for a Master’s 2 program, or up to 24 months for an integrated M1-M2 program. It also includes a waiver of university tuition fees, as well as administrative support and access to a cultural program.
The application is part of the TSE admission process and does not require any additional steps after the preliminary selection.
Lafayette Scholarship
The Lafayette Scholarship is intended for students who have earned or are in the process of earning a bachelor’s degree in the United States. It supports their admission to the TSE Master of Science and promotes both their academic integration and personal development, particularly through cultural and leadership experiences.
It provides a monthly stipend of €1,500 and covers tuition costs. Students also receive administrative support and participate in a cultural and leadership program.
Applicants need to apply directly to the scholarship (deadline usually set in November) in parallel of their application to TSE during the fall admission campaign.
TSE Specific Measures
Specific grant programs are available to students admitted to the School’s own degree programs. These programs provide financial support based on need and academic merit, and may supplement general financial aid.
These programs are designed for:
- The TSE Bachelor of Science
- The TSE Master of Science
- The Master of Science in Finance and Data Science
The tuition policies for each of these degree programs take into account applicants’ academic track record (academic excellence) in order to offer “scholarship offers” as early as the admission phase, which result in a reduction in the cost of tuition. Applicants do not need to take any action; they are identified directly by the committee reviewing applications and, if eligible, are offered these scholarships when their admission results are published.
See the program pages for more details.
Jean-Jacques Laffont – TSE Scholarship
Each year, the Jean-Jacques Laffont – TSE Foundation awards scholarships of €5,000 to Master’s students whose academic record stands out for its excellence. These scholarships are based on criteria of merit and academic performance. Students may apply after being admitted to a Master’s program, using a form provided by the admissions office.

They are open to all candidates admitted to the first (M1) or second (M2) year of these programs, regardless of nationality. Applications are accepted annually, generally until early May.
TSE Fellowships
TSE Fellowships are available to students admitted to the Master 2 in Economic Theory and Econometrics (ETE), a doctoral track in Economics. They provide funding ranging from €8,000 to €12,000.
