The TSE Bachelor of Science is a selective three-year program that integrates quantitative methods, Economics, and Quantitative Social Sciences, as well as Mathematics. It aims to prepare undergraduate students who will continue their studies toward a master’s degree, either within the TSE Master of Science program or in other master’s programs.

A Flexible and Customizable Curriculum

The program is structured around disciplinary majors and minors offered by the TSE School’s departments, which students can combine to design their own course of study.

The Economics track offers one major and one minor.

Completing a major in Economics fulfills the prerequisites for pursuing graduate studies in Economics at the master’s level.

Upon completion of the required credits, students are awarded the TSE Bachelor of Science, whose full title reflects the composition of their major and minor (for example, TSE Bachelor of Science in Economics if the student pursues a major in Economics, or TSE Bachelor of Science in Economics and Quantitative Social Sciences if the student pursues majors in both Economics and Quantitative Social Sciences).

Program Structure

Academic Year Structure

What’s next?

The Bachelor’s Degree: The First Step Toward an Ambitious Career

The Bachelor’s degree will enable students to pursue careers (such as consultant, data analyst, statistician, economist, policy advisor, etc.) in the private sector (consulting, digital platforms, market and opinion research firms, …), within governmental or nongovernmental organizations, or in higher education and research, after earning a Master’s degree.

Graduates will find opportunities in fields where they will need advanced tools for generating, analyzing, and interpreting data. Bachelor’s students will benefit from rigorous and coherent instruction in quantitative methods. They will also have access to an interdisciplinary approach focused on the foundational training and application of quantitative methods to the diverse types of data they will encounter in their careers. Students will be able to take into account the economic, social, psychological, political, and other factors that influence the behavior of individuals, businesses, and governments.

Continuing Your Education After the Bachelor’s Degree

To pursue these career paths, the TSE Bachelor of Science program prepares students to continue their studies at the master’s level, either within the TSE Master of Science program or at other institutions in France and abroad.

The choice of a major, elective courses, and a potential minor allows students to gradually build their plan for continuing their education.

Depending on their academic background, students may apply to various master’s programs offered by TSE or other institutions, particularly in economics, data science, finance, public policy, or applied mathematics. Admission to the TSE Master of Science program is subject to the specific criteria of that program.

Further Studies After a Major in Economics

This major provides the most natural foundation for continuing studies at the master’s level in economics.

At TSE, students can continue their studies through the TSE Master of Science program, with the option to choose a specialization focused on economics or data science: Economics of Markets and Organizations (EMO), Public Policy and Development (PPD), Environmental Economics and Policy (EEP), Econometrics and Empirical Economics (EEE), Economics of Global Risks (EGR), Applied Economics (EA), and Data Science for Social Sciences (D3S). Specific programs in finance are also available: the M2 in Finance from the Toulouse School of Management and the Master of Science in Finance and Data Science.
