White paper “Antibiotic Therapy: Everyone’s Concern”

Published on 13 May 2025

The white paper “Antibiotic Therapy: Everyone’s Concern” is the result of a reflection process that began in 2024 as part of a temporary think tank and following a conference and debate on antibiotic therapy, in which Pierre Dubois, professor of economics and Director of the TSE Health Center, participated.

Commissioned by Pfizer in partnership with the Pasteur Institute, bioMérieux, BEAM Alliance, and the National Industry Council, and with the support of the Antimicrobial Resistance Working Group of the Scientific Council for the Sector, this white paper proposes 17 concrete measures to expand the antibiotic arsenal in France and address public health challenges through three fundamental areas of focus:

  • Promoting prevention, infection control, and the appropriate use of antibiotics
  • Supporting research
  • Rethinking funding models for antibiotic therapy

This white paper echoes the recommendations made by TSE researchers, whose work contributes to the fight against antibiotic resistance and who are key members of the Arpège project.
