Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) announces the arrival of two new directors at the helm of the institution, effective November 1, 2025. Victoria Barham becomes Director of the Grand Établissement TSE and Karine Van Der Straeten becomes Executive Director of the TSE Foundation.
2025 marks the beginning of a new cycle for TSE. Following the arrival of Dominique Sénéquier as the new Chairwoman of the TSE Foundation and the green light from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for the creation of the "TSE Master of Science" degree this summer, the management team is renewed as of November 1, 2025.
TSE, a Grand Établissement created on January 1, 2023, is now headed by Victoria Barham, who was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa in Canada (10,000 students, 270 professors) in 2019.

At the TSE Foundation, Karine Van Der Strateten, research director at the CNRS and a member of TSE since 2008, has been appointed as the Executive Director.

The Grand Établissement TSE, ranked 16th in the world in economics by the Shanghai ranking, and the TSE Foundation, owe their existence to the extraordinary vision of Jean-Jacques Laffont, who launched this initiative 40 years ago, and which was subsequently taken up by Jean Tirole (Nobel Prize winner) and Christian Gollier. These two institutions and their new directors face many challenges, including: the ongoing capacity of the Foundation to raise funds (public and private) and consolidate its role as a platform between decision-makers, researchers, and citizens; and the ambition of the Grand Établissement to launch new teaching programs which will attract outstanding students and contribute to the ongoing financial sustainability of TSE.
