Abstract :
I would like to first express my deepest gratitude to Fabrice Collard, Christian Hellwig, and Eugenia Gonzalez-Aguado for their guidance and support as my professors and advisors. Their insightful advice has greatly enhanced the quality of my work, and their patience has been truly remarkable. I owe thanks to Nicolas Werquin and Martial Dupaigne for valuable suggestions and their availability. I am also grateful to Patrick Fève, Andreas Schaab, Charles Brendon, and Tiziana Assenza for their valuable feedback and stimulating discussions. I would like to warmly thank every member of the macro group at TSE for the support they provided throughout my PhD. I have truly benefited from not just one advisor, but a group of exceptionally gifteo enjoyable. I am deeply grateful to Javier Gonzalez-Morin. While working on my first chapter, I greatly benefited from his sharp intellect, always accompanied by genuine humility. I will fondly remember not only the many hours we spd individuals who supported me at different stages of my journey. A special thanks to Nour Meddahi for encouragement during my PhD. I cannot thank my coauthors enough for making the process of writing each chapter sent working together but also the moments spent watching cycling, whether in his office or along the streets of Toulouse. Chenchen Huang also deserves special thanks for his extensive involve ment in my second chapter. His assistance in transforming the paper from an idea into a chapter was indispensable. I would also like to acknowledge all of my fellow Ph.D. students, with particular thanks to my cohort. To Pablo Mileni, for our endless conversations about economics and other weighty matters. I have greatly valued the opportunity to exchange ideas with you. I can think of few people whose beliefs I have tried to challenge more, yet I recognize that your convictions are at least as steadfast as mine. I am also extremely grateful to Juan Pal and Guillem Foucault for sharing the Ph.D. experience with me, and for using COVID as an excuse to do stupid things. To Giovanni, Pascal, Xi, Hanlin, Yassin, and Valentina, thank you for the many wonderful moments we shared. To Wenxuan Xu, for endless hours of discussions. Finally, I would like to thank my friends, my family, and En Qi. Everybody has contri buted in different ways, but two individuals stand out as especially important in my PhD journey. My granddad has nurtured my curiosity and love of learning from an early age, and taught me that engaging with different viewpoints can deepen understanding and spark even greater curiosity. En Qi’s love and support are treasures I cherish every day, and I am profoundly grateful to her for showing me that the world extends far beyond Europe.
