A new collaboration agreement
At the close of June 2025, Yassine Lefouili, Managing Director of the Jean-Jacques Laffont - TSE Foundation, joined the national competition authorities of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, and Norway in signing a new collaboration agreement.
This agreement builds on an already fruitful relationship, reaffirming TSE’s longstanding commitment to collaborating with leading competition agencies. By formalizing their partnership, the signatories pledge to deepen the exchange of expertise, foster cutting-edge research, and deliver bespoke training and seminar programs that will directly inform policy decisions. Practitioners from the authorities will gain privileged access to TSE’s academic insights, while TSE researchers will engage more closely with the real-world challenges shaping Nordic competition policy.
“We look forward to learning from and engaging in discussions on key competition economics issues with some of the world’s foremost economists. Maintaining strong ties to academia is important to us”, said Hans Petter H. Hanson, Chief Economist at the Norwegian Competition Authority.
By pooling their strengths, TSE and its Nordic partners aim to advance excellence in economic analysis and regulatory practice, ultimately strengthening the competitive landscape across Europe.
“These opportunities for shared dialogue involving multiple authorities are highly constructive in enhancing the impact of our research” underlined Patrick Rey, Scientific Director of the TSE Competition Policy & Regulation Center.
“We are delighted to convene in September 2025 for the inaugural discussion round and workshop,” added Yassine Lefouili, Managing Director of the Jean-Jacques Laffont - TSE Foundation.
