Marine Coinon has been awarded the Cem Ertur Prize in Spatial Econometrics and Statistics at the 20th World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association and the 24th International Workshop in Spatial Econometrics and Statistics for her paper “Pesticide Externalities and Spatial Coordination Failure in Mixed Farming Landscapes.”
To honor the memory of Prof. Cem Ertur, the Cem Ertur Prize aims to recognize and honor outstanding research by a junior researcher related to spatial econometrics. This prize is given to a young researcher that presents a very promising article during the workshop. A committee composed of the organizers of previous editions of the workshop selects the best paper presented. This committee ranks contributions based on referee reports and their own reading of the papers.
Currently a postdoctoral fellow in agricultural and environmental economics, Marine Coinon studies the interactions between agricultural production and biodiversity. After positions at TSE–INRAe and the University of Bonn, she joined TSE in September 2025.
She leads the BEES research project on biodiversity, pesticides and public policies, funded by the EXPLOR'AE programme in collaboration with Céline Bonnet (TSE–INRAe).
This award recognizes not only the quality of Marine Coinon’s research but also her promising contribution to advancing knowledge at the intersection of spatial econometrics, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
