Back to school message from TSE Dean

August 24, 2020 Campus

Dear students,

The start of the 2020 academic year will take place in the context of the current pandemic, which will generate additional organisational constraints. We must adapt as best we can to these constraints.

Lessons may combine face-to-face and distance learning activities. Each teacher will introduce you to the organization selected for his or her class and tutorials, if applicable. TSE is concerned about the health of teachers, administrative staff and students and has chosen to organize its pedagogical activities in presence in such a way as to protect each and every one by maintaining the rules of social distancing within the classes and lecture halls. Students will occupy only one out of two seats, will wear a mask and for large classes only, your presence on site for these activities will be based on a rotation of half a promotion each week. This organisation is in line with the amended decree that has been published on the organisation of activities in universities in times of Covid-19 (article 36 of the amended decree 2020-860) and follows the recommendations of Haut Conseil de la Santé Publique (the French High Council of Public Health) of August 20, 2020. Course materials and pedagogical activities will be available on Moodle to enable complementary independent work.

We are implementing this organisation to protect ourselves collectively but also to try as best we can to limit the likelihood of an administrative closure of our institution in the event of an uncontrolled evolution of cases of infection. This closure might affect the chances of success of the most vulnerable students among you and the perceived quality of our diplomas.

This organization is possible thanks to the great efforts made by the teachers, we are grateful to them.

We will pass these challenging times more easily if we show solidarity.

I am therefore relying on your individual responsibility to ensure that everyone strictly respect protective physical distancing and hygiene measures.

I thank you in advance for your support and wish you all a great new academic year!
