Help us develop economic knowledge for a better world
Philanthropic support has played a significant role in the creation of the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and in its development ever since.
Shortly after its creation, TSE conducted a first fundraising campaign (2008-2012), raising €33M from 12 French companies. To ensure that TSE’s people continue to provide solutions to key economic and social issues, and to strengthen its position as a leading research and teaching institution in economics, TSE later launched a second fundraising campaign "Toulouse Talent - Global Impact" (2016-2020). This second campaign has enabled TSE to collect more than €56M in donations from companies as well as individuals and foundations, both in France and internationally.
These two remarkable campaigns made it possible to increase the size of its endowment fund of the Jean-Jacques Laffont Foundation - TSE and diversify its sources of financing in order to ensure its sustainability and guarantee its independence. They also provided new resources to researchers and PhD students (mainly funding for research projects, research grants and scholarships).
With these extraordinary achievements behind, TSE is now continuing its fundraising efforts to meet the ambitions and needs of its researchers and students.
Our donor community includes corporations, individuals and charitable organizations from France and worldwide.
Join us and help us foster distinctive innovation at TSE and IAST!
In keeping with our priority areas, your gift can:
Whether you choose to invest in programs, people, facilities, or to make an unrestricted gift, you contribute to the advancement of TSE's and IAST's missions.
Solving key economic and social issues
Our researchers' work leads to a better understanding of the economic rules and mechanisms that govern the world we live in. Innovation is part of our culture while being grounded in real-world issues. It's in TSE's DNA to contribute to public debate, to connect research and public policy, and to have researchers interact with firms. Moreover, while economics will always remain at the core of our activity, we firmly believe that fascinating and often unexpected synergies emerge from interdisciplinary approaches, which are increasingly recognized as the future for top-level academic endeavor. To achieve our ambitious scientific goals and encourage the emergence of leading teams in priority research fields we want to secure existing posts; endow new ones; and create new research centers and visiting programs. For this purpose, we need your support.
Invest in our endowment and ensure funding for:
More global debate-fueled research centers and chairs (focused on priority research fields such as digital economy, climate change and energy, health, and sustainable finance)
More interdisciplinary programs
More research projects on wide-reaching themes such as development and infrastructures, migration, religion, and population ageing
Educating the brightest future talent
Educating tomorrow's top economists is key to our future: today's students are tomorrow's ambassadors. At TSE, we are proud to offer our students a competitive international higher education program within the University of Toulouse, and to pioneer a novel approach to higher education in France. Our research-oriented courses train our students to master and adapt the best current theories and techniques to solve the real-world challenges that their future employers will face. We want to go further. We will provide a range of internationally competitive scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships within an overall educational package that meets the highest international standards and offers new opportunities for international mobility. With your support, we can bring exceptional students and young researchers from all over the world to benefit from the extraordinary ressources at TSE and IAST.

Ways to give
Make a current-use gift that has an immediate impact: the funds you donate are available to be spent right away to benefit students, faculty, and programs.
Make a major endowed gift to support TSE and IAST over the long term: endowed gifts create permanent funds where the principal of the gift is invested to generate earnings that strengthen our institution for generations to come.
Make a planned gift to provide future support to TSE and IAST: planned gifts include bequests and life income gifts.
Whatever your preferred way to give, you can either support general research and training at TSE and IAST, or select a specific area or program to benefit from your generosity. For example, you could help us fund:
A research center focused on a priority research field: support leading teams in health economics, the digital economy, sustainable finance and innovation.
A visiting professorship: enable a renowned professor to come for several days or months at TSE or IAST to interact with our researchers and students.
A scholarship: offer an outstanding student a scholarship grant for the two consecutive years of a Master's program at TSE. Please note that we are delighted to name scholarships after the donor or sponsoring organization.
New equipment for our future building: make the latest technologies available.
All gifts are welcome, from France and abroad. Your donations, combined with those of others, will make a real difference.

" It is clear that if I had not been able to benefit from the association's scholarship in 2015, I would not have been able to start my thesis in the Toulouse School of Economics research center. The scholarship allowed me to focus on my studies, instead of juggling a job on the side. I am currently in the 2nd year of the PhD and am studying how algorithms and platforms affect the economy, and consequently, how to design and regulate them. "
" I was delighted to receive the scholarship offered by the Jean-Jacques Laffont Association. As a young student in Economics, I have always wanted to participate in the cutting-edge research that takes place at Toulouse School of Economics and the association has been a real springboard to do so. "
“ Your generous financial support is very important for me […] I would like to make my own contributions to mitigate these developments problems and help the disadvantaged people for a better life. ”
" The scholarship changed huge aspects of my life. Without the scholarship I wouldn’t have been able to come to France, to TSE…It has helped me be more ambitious with what I want to do ”
