We study some algorithms using proximal, Lagrangian and penalization meth- ods. We prove that the sequences generated by these algorithms converge toward solutions ofminimization problems. Applications are given in the areas of domain decomposition for PDE’s and compressive sensing.

This paper considers nonparametric identification of nonstationary dynamic discrete choice models when the agent's time horizon extends beyond the length of the data. We show conditions under which ow payoffs are identified subject to standard normalizations and, when the payoff function does not...

In this talk, we will present a functional modeling approach of space-speed profiles (speed as function of vehicle position). Due to uncertainties in the measurements of position and speed from sensors, the problem is equivalent to a nonparametric regression model. A smoothing spline model using...

This paper examines a market in which buyers and sellers must first make investments, and then match to produce and split a surplus whose size is determined by their investments. We are especially interested in identifying conditions under which the post-investment matching process created...

Medicare provides subsidized health insurance access to U.S. elders whose responses to the program have been the subject of most research. Yet, changes in relative prices, net worth, as well as in exposure to morbidity and mortality risks induced by Medicare should also affect younger agents...

Resale price maintenance (RPM), slotting fees, loyalty rebates and other related vertical practices can allow an incumbent manufacturer to transfer profits to retailers. If these retailers were to accommodate entry, upstream competition could lead to lower industry profits and the breakdown of...
