Biography
Ilaria is a Research Fellow at IAST. Trained in Evolutionary Biology at the Università degli Studi di Padova, she obtained a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig. She is interested in the evolution of human life history, with a focus on the emergence of childhood and cooperative practices surrounding it. Her research combines cross-cultural, statistical, and observational methods, including fieldwork on the Island of Pemba, Tanzania, to study the evolution of human behaviour.
