The objective of the conference is the discussion of recent contributions in theoretical and empirical economics with a focus on understanding the functioning of food markets. Special attention will be given to the formal analysis of firms’ innovation strategies and their impact on businesses and consumers, the relationships between the agricultural sector, the food processing industry, and the distribution networks, and impact of food supply chain strategies (and public policies) on health and the environment.
