 y how data monetization influences digital innovation and competition in d
 ata-driven mergers. Data monetization generates additional revenue for dig
 ital firms but imposes privacy costs on consumers\, and heterogeneity in t
 hese costs reshapes market segmentation and competition. The analysis show
 s that data monetization can weaken innovation incentives and reduce consu
 mer surplus. In concentrated markets\, it also softens competition\, lower
 ing consumer welfare. Comparing personalized and uniform pricing schemes\,
  the paper identifies novel interactions between data monetization\, prici
 ng strategies\, and welfare outcomes.
