DESCRIPTION:Rafaelle Fiocco (Università degli studi di Bergamo)\, “Data ana
lytics for algorithmic pricing”\, Industrial Organization seminar\, TSE\,
 November 17\, 2025\, 14:15–15:30\, room Auditorium 4.\n\nWe characterize t
he optimal design of data analytics for algorithmic pricing in a market wh
ere firms aim to collude under secret price cuts. Firms obtain information
either through predictive analytics before price setting --- i.e.\, ex an
te information provision --- or through diagnostic analytics after price s
etting --- i.e.\, ex post information provision. The two modes of informat
ion provision generate a trade-off between a price sophistication effect a
nd a profit dissipation effect. Such trade-off hinges upon the heterogenei
ty of demand\, the efficiency of information technology\, and the number o
f firms. Our analysis provides novel insights into the theory of harm for
 algorithmic pricing
