Sequential Equilibria of Multi-Stage Games with Infinite Sets of Types and Actions

Abstract

We formulate a definition of basic sequential equilibrium for multi-stage games with infinite type sets and infinite action sets, and we prove its general existence. We then explore several difficulties of this basic concept and propose a definition of extended sequential equilibrium to resolve a problem with step-strategy approximations while maintaining general existence.
