The food, farms and firms group aims at managing, coordinating and promoting research activities about the economy of the agri-food sector, from farmers to consumers. This group is composed of around twenty TSE researchers working in this area. Recent and on-going research is mainly about market power of firms on agri-food markets, vertical relationships between producers and retailers, consumer demand, quality signals (official quality signals including geographical indications and private labels), food consumption, nutrition and health, agricultural contracts, agricultural policy. Group activities - AFIO Seminar (Agriculture and Food Industrial Organization), Monday every two weeks, 11:00 to 12:30, room MF323. Organized by Stéphane Caprice. A series of presentations on productivity estimation and efficieny is on-going . - INRA-IDEI workshops . The next workshop will be held on March 16-17, 2009, and will deal with [market power in vertically linked markets]. - Bisannual INRA-IDEI conference on Industrial Organization and the Food Processing Industry (next conference in June 2010).
